7 Ways To Improve Your Self-Confidence

You may feel like you’re not good enough, or that you can’t do something because you don’t have the confidence. But I’m here to tell you that that is simply not true. You have all the power in this world to achieve what you want, and it starts with self-confidence.

Make a confident fist.

Yes, you read that right. When you feel low just look at your hands, slowly form a first with your fingers and bring it in front of your face; look at it closely, notice how strong and protective it is.

It’s crazy how humans are meant to hold each other. How come when you hold someone’s hand, your fingers just perfectly lock with theirs? It cannot be mere coincidence that are bodies are fully capable of holding another…. we were designed to love. And how about we hold ourselves when feeling down just like we hold others. How about we start telling ourselves that we’re strong. Next time you feel like you aren’t good enough, look at your hands and think about how your hands can help you achieve all of the goals that are important to you.

Meditate for 15 minutes a day.

Meditation is a great way to improve your mental health and self-confidence. This simple practice can help you connect with yourself while strengthening positive feelings, reducing anxiety and stress, boosting resilience and more.

Here’s how to meditate:

  • Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed for 15 minutes (or half an hour if possible).
  • Sit upright in either lotus position or cross-legged on the floor. If this isn’t possible, choose another sitting position that feels comfortable for you.
  • Close your eyes and focus on your breath as it flows in through your nose then out through your mouth. Don’t try to regulate it; simply observe the sensations of breathing without following along with them too closely or letting them distract from the moment at hand. There should be no need to count out any specific number of breaths—just keep going until 15 minutes have passed naturally!

Hold the door open for someone.

You might wonder what holding a door for someone has to do with self confidence. I will tell you exactly how: holding the door open for someone is a simple act, but it makes a big difference. When you hold the door open, you’re showing compassion, consideration, and confidence in your beliefs—and it can make a huge impact on how others see you.

Holding the door for someone isn’t just about being polite; there are many other benefits to this seemingly insignificant gesture.

  • It shows that you care about others.
  • It helps build relationships with people who would otherwise not notice each other at all (e.g., someone who has been rushing to catch up with their friends).
  • It gives people something positive to remember about themselves (as opposed to what they don’t like about themselves).

Write down your achievements.

I have been able to build confidence and has been able to achieve many things in life just by writing down my achievements and accomplishments. It sounds silly but it actually works! When you write down your achievements you on a piece of paper you think about all the happy moments that lead you to accomplish your past success. You will also think about the struggles and obstacle that came on your way but you got past them. It will give you a sense of belief and self appreciation making you feel motivated and hence more confidence.

Here let me give you some tips on how to start writing your achievements:

  • Write down your achievements from the last year. This can be anything from winning a race, taking a ballroom dancing class, or going on a date with someone new.
  • Write down your achievements from the last week. This could include any moments where you did something nice for someone else (like helping out with a project at work), but also things like getting closer with family members or making new friends.
  • Write down your achievements from the last day/hour/minute—you get the idea!

Whether it was a moment where you were kind to someone, or an event that helped improve your personal relationships, write them all!

Change your body language.

Your body language is the first thing people will notice about you. Even if your clothes are perfectly put together, if your body language is slouchy or closed off, then it will make a negative impression on everyone around you. It’s important to always project a confident and open posture so that others can see that you’re comfortable in your own skin.

To do this, there are several simple things that you can do: Stand up straight with your shoulders back and head held high (this makes for an attractive silhouette). Look people directly in their eyes when speaking with them (since eye contact shows interest). Smile at people as they pass by on the street or enter the room where you’re standing. Don’t cross your arms across your chest when talking with someone; this could be seen as defensive or closed off behavior—instead try crossing one leg over another while leaning forward slightly toward whoever they are speaking with (it looks more welcoming).

Bask in compliments instead of deflecting them.

One of the best ways to increase your self-confidence is to learn how to accept compliments. If you’re used to deflecting compliments or not responding at all, it can be a challenge to get in the habit of accepting them without feeling awkward. Here are some tips for improving your ability on this front:

  • Practice accepting a compliment with a friend or family member who won’t judge you if you mess up.
  • The next time someone gives you a compliment, try saying “thank you!” out loud—even if it feels weird at first!
  • Tell yourself that even if something isn’t true about yourself (like having nice hair), other people see things differently than we do and might think otherwise!

List 10 things you (or others) love about you.

The idea here is to be aware of who you are as a person. We get so caught up in our life that sometimes we start to forget things we once liked or we were good at. We don’t validate and appreciate ourselves enough and when things get hard we often feel like there’s nothing we can do because we aren’t good enough or capable enough. However, we all know that’s not true at all. We has a human has many talents, qualities and even flaws. But there are certain set of qualities that are uniquely specific to just you.

When you write about the things you love about yourself or things others tell you they love about you, you feel more connected to yourself. If you’re aware of your talents and qualities, you would exactly know how to figure out a way when things go haywire.

There are many ways to boost your self-confidence and become a more confident person. The key is doing them consistently over time so that they become habits. When you start making these small changes in the way you think and act, it will change how others perceive you too which will make them more open with their compliments towards you!
